It features a removable top tray that hides the gun mounts, once the top tray is re-placed in the box it locks the mounts in place. We have used the finest brass drawer pulls, handles and locks. This case is built to the highest standard. Many canvas and leather cases are offered as an economical alternative to Leather cases, this is usually achieved by substandard materials and workmanship. We have worked very hard to source the very finest materials available in the world and have hand made these cases to the very highest standards. Current canvas and leather cases that are equal to this, which we have handled in the past, sell for approximately $750. This is for a very high quality case, exactly like the case that we are selling. You cannot compare this case to the economy cases that are sold at the price we are selling our cases at. All stitching is not superficial and decorative, it actually penetrates the frame. They are stitched and glued assuring many years of rugged use. Genuine wool felt interior. The finest waterproof canvas with leather piping available. Superior hardwood construction. Brass lock and hardware. Two leather straps for security. Compartments for all accessories.
When buying a case these are questions you should ask:
1. Are the corners stitched through the hard wood or just glued. Our cases are stitched and glued and are not superficial decorative stitching, if they are not made this way they will not hold up.
2. Is the interior real wool flannel? Our cases have real wool flannel interior, similar to billiard cloth.

Correct Period Pad
This is the original pad that all high-grade gun companies used. It is exactly like the pre- World War II Silvers pad. Early guns by Purdey, Parker, Fox, Ithaca, Winchester, Holland, Sauer, Merkel, L.C. Smith, etc. would have been shipped with this pad. It is absolutely indistinguishable from the original in style, size and color. It makes the finest base for traditional leather covered pads. No other pad like it is currently manufactured. Base measures 6' long and 131/32' wide (at the widest point). It has two 5/8' diameter 'knock out' plugs for easy access to screw holes during installation. Screw holes are 3¼' apart midway between these holes is a cavity 1' wide and 2½' long. Color : orange.

Our correct period pad is the exact color of the pre-war silver’s pad. When they are finished in the described manner, they are undetectable from the original pre-war pad. We have spent a lot of time developing the correct color for this pad.
1. After installation of the pad, buff it with Vaseline to add a sheen
2. Coat it with varnish, tru-oil, and shellac and let dry. This will preserve the sheen.
